So, I had no idea I would like this book as much as I did. My family met Mr. McCathern on a vacation to Palo Duro Canyon. He was selling his books at a table in a gift shop. Just the man's demaenor alone made me interested in the type of book he'd write, so when he said these were available through the Kindle store, I knew I couldn't lose. The story definitely had me hooked from the beginning. a very easy read that made it hard to put the book down. Aside from the storyline, this fiction book follows history to a T. From the ending of the Civil War to the Indian Wars to the route the cowboys take to drive their cattle across Texas, this story is surrounded by real history like Quannah Parker. If you are a history buff, or like the style of Louis L'Amour, this book is for you. I cannot wait to read the next in the series!

This book is the one missing from the four part set. It arrived in perfect condition.
One of the best books I have read ever! One of the best stories told by a top quality story teller.I would reccomend this book to any one, any age. No bad language, just good reading.

Gerald McCathern writes so that you are drawn into the story. Horns and his other books are great reading.

I recommend all of McCathern's books to fans of westerns, history buffs and Texans.
Great read. Very true to history. Quanah Parker at one time was of the same mindset as the other Indians of the period. something made him realize that right or wrong the white eyes were going to win.If it wasn't for his insight the command hie nation would be extinct..
